This January we have added several great features to PPM Express.
1) Key Dates Import From Azure DevOps
This option allows to import Work Item types from Azure DevOps as Key dates to PPM Express.
If you have added Azure DevOps connection to PPM Express and linked PPM Express project to Azure DevOps project, it is now possible to import Key Dates from Azure DevOps project (epic, area or iteration) to PPM Express project.
All Work Items from the linked Azure DevOps project (epic, area or iteration) that have date fields filled in can be imported as Key Dates from Azure DevOps to PPM Express. In this way project stakeholders can have a good visibility of important dates of your project (milestones, releases, etc.) in one place.
2) Data Synchronization Logic for Azure DevOps
In order to provide more flexibility on data import and visualization, data synchronization logic for Azure DevOps connection has changed and is now based on Azure DevOps Teams configuration. It is possible to connect PPM Express project to a specific Azure DevOps team (epic, iteration or/and area).
Data synchronized from Azure DevOps depends on the linked elements selected while project linking and Azure DevOps settings.
While linking PPM Express project to Azure DevOps project the following options are available:
- to link PPM Express project to the entire Azure DevOps project;
- to link PPM Express project to a specific Team of Azure DevOps project;
- to link PPM Express project to a specific Epic of Azure DevOps project;
- to link PPM Express project to a specific Area of Azure DevOps project;
- to link PPM Express project to a specific Iteration of Azure DevOps project;
- to link PPM Express project to several Azure DevOps elements within one project (Team and Epic, for example, etc.).
Data for PPM Express Teams section is extracted from Azure DevOps Teams (Project settings => Teams).
Data for PPM Express Iterations section is extracted from Azure DevOps Iterations (Project settings => Project Configuration => Parent and child Iterations).
